Customizable AI-based in-line process monitoring platform for achieving zero-defect manufacturing in the PV industry
Platform-ZERO develops and validates advanced process monitoring technology for third-generation photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing.
Demonstrated at TRL7, it targets four diverse PV production lines including roll-to-roll and sheet-to-sheet methods. The technology aims to improve product quality, reduce defects and waste, and lower costs, boosting competitiveness of the EU PV industry.
The project unites experts in material characterization, process monitoring, and PV device development to enable a multidisciplinary approach.
Platform-ZERO offers a self-learning, modular in-line process monitoring platform using non-destructive inspection and AI-based Industry 4.0 tools. It enables early fault detection and prevention in complex third-generation PV manufacturing, reducing waste and improving yield.
