BUILD UP portal: Operation, maintenance, improvement and promotion
BUILD UP portal is the official digital platform of the European Commission (DG ENER and CINEA) for the promotion of energy efficiency and renewable energy in the European construction sector.
While low-energy buildings are no longer a new concept, their widespread adoption within the next decade is crucial, as per the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (May 2024).
For this reason, BUILD UP acts as a hub for Europe’s collective knowledge on this topic, encouraging the exchange of best practices, expertise, tools, and resources.
Fostering cooperation and know-how transfer at professional level in Europe is one of the best way to tackle the promotion of energy-efficient and sustainable buildings.
Among the expected impacts, there are:
- Become an autoritative one-stop source of information for the implementation of energy efficiency in building policies
- Increase awareness of all actors in the building value chain on energy efficiency and renewable energy, as well as in other building sustainability categories related to energy such as decarbonization, circularity, human health, social and environmental impact, facilitating the knowledge transfer across the building sector.
- Promote relevant initiatives of the European Commission like the BUILD UP Skills Initiative, etc.
In the BUILD UP Tender, R2M role is :
- Knowledge Partner: Creates editorial content for Topic of the Months (TOMs) and quality assessment/proofreading.
- Enriches BUILD UP Portal with Italian/European events, EU projects, and national initiatives.
- Promotes portal on corporate social media and at strategic events like Sustainable Places Conference.
- Co-organizes annual events with CINEA and BUILD UP Skills EU Exchange Meeting in Brussels.
- Supports BUILD UP Skills Initiative with content updates and best practice transfer.
