Green and circular transformation of services in Med tourism

The overall objective of GreenSET is to create & test a structured and scalable framework that supports the massive circular transformation of tourism services in the Mediterranean region. By empowering Business Support Organisations (BSOs) with the necessary MED Sustainable Service Innovation Methodology (MEDSSIM), support tools, and training, the project GreenSET will foster sustainable and innovative practices, leading to improved competitiveness and environmental sustainability of tourism SMEs.

The GreenSET project addresses the lack of systemic, comprehensive and far reaching support for circular transformation initiatives within the Mediterranean tourism sector.

This sector, primarily composed of SMEs, faces significant challenges in adopting circular and sustainable practices due to limited innovation capacity and support infrastructure. GreenSET will develop a nucleus of MED business support infrastructure capable to transform the MED tourism sector by embedding circular economy principles into the operations of SMEs.

This transformation is expected to lead to more sustainable business models, better resource utilization, reduced environmental impact, and enhanced economic resilience of tourism SMEs in the region.

R2M is in charge of Dissemination, Exploitation and Communication (DEC) activities in this project.
