NESOI+
New Energy Solutions Optimized for Island Outermost Regions
Building on the success of the H2020 NESOI project (70+ islands supported), NESOI+ will accelerate the green transition in EU Outermost Regions (ORs).
NESOI+ will tailor a standardized protocol and test it across three pilot ORs (Canary, Azores, Martinique) to facilitate bottom-up Energy Communities projects.
NESOI+ will offer a One-Stop-Shop, providing investment concepts, business modeling, and technical support. This ensures projects meet investor requirements and creates sustainable investment pipelines.
NESOI+ will run two open calls to select 30 beneficiary projects in the pilot ORs, offering capacity building and matchmaking to speed up development and enable wide replication.
The main impact for NESOI+
- Tailored Decarbonization for Outermost Regions (ORs): NESOI+ expands a proven energy transition protocol to specifically address the unique needs of EU Outermost Regions (Canary, Azores, Martinique), facilitating the implementation of bottom-up Energy Communities projects in these critical areas.
- Creation of a Centralized One-Stop-Shop: The project establishes a comprehensive One-Stop-Shop providing reference materials, tools, capacity building, and matchmaking services to streamline the entire value chain of island Energy Communities.
- Sustainable Investment Pipeline Development: NESOI+ focuses on developing high-quality investment concepts and providing support in business modeling, ensuring that 30 selected beneficiary projects are aligned with investor expectations, thereby creating a sustainable and financeable investment pipeline.
