Transformation of energy intensive process industries through integration of energy, process, and feedstock flexibility
TRINEFLEX is an integrated transformation toolkit delivering digital lifecycle management as a service for energy-intensive industries (EIIs). It drives the transition to flexible, sustainable plant operations using advanced data acquisition, Big Data, process modeling, and Digital Twins with multi-agent decision support.
Implemented at five demo sites across glass, copper, aluminium, and water sectors, it integrates transformative technologies like clean energy and carbon capture to demonstrate energy neutrality flexibility measures.
Designed for rapid replication in target sectors and broad transferability, TRINEFLEX advances industrial energy flexibility and long-term symbiosis, with R2M contributing vital expertise in digital innovation and exploitation.
TRINEFLEX mobilizes local stakeholders and communities through capacity building, open science, and new sustainable economic activities. It employs service- and community-based demand/response to leverage local energy resources, emphasizing sustainable fuels and feedstocks for industrial-urban symbiosis.
